Fathom+

I usually shy away from off brand items when it comes to something as important as goggles. If they fog or you can’t see in flat light light you can ski off a traverse or blow up on something steep. No bueno! This year after reading about these photochromic lenses I thought I would give them a try. I had my Oakleys in reserve the first week or so in my pack. After a week out they came. I just kept the foul weather lens for the Glade goggles I used about four days of fog and heavy snow. Amazing definition and constant throughout the day. So next year I’ll get another pair as a spare. The Oakleys will be kept in a Tupperware in my travel stuff with extra parts.

I purchased the Glade Fathom+ through the pro program. The CS team at Glade is fantastic, offering personal assistance and human responses, usually within hours of a message. So impressed there. The product:
I love the mag-interchangeable lenses. So nice to be able to switch to low-light when conditions warrant. The photochromic feature works great on the main lens. I did experience some fogging in a couple cases, like when I had to complete a traverse. I was HOT 🥵 and I could tell my face was sweating, and in those scenarios there’s not much airflow to help with preventing fogging. Usually if I experienced any fogging, it’d clear pretty quickly once I got moving again. One time I did freeze the fog on the lens but that’s really on me for lifting the goggles after fogging them up! Overall a great season and I look forward to using these for many more! Would happily buy again.

The Fathom+ goggles are incredibly comfortable—hands down the best I’ve worn. After using a competitor’s brand for years, I’m so glad I finally made the switch. Huge upgrade from my Smiths and good price compared to other top tier goggles in the market. Lenses provide really good visuals in variant weather and make decisions snappy. Always a bonus when you can support a local Summit Co company. Wins across the board :) Keep up the great work Glade team!
